The 20ft Mobile Sheep & Goat Bulk Handler has the added advantage of being able to be towed to various locations and included in our ProWay portable sheepyard designs. Similar to our permanent model, the Mobile Sheep Bulk Handler is ideal for drenching, vaccinating, capsuling, mouthing, back lining, jetting and tagging.
Sheep are ushered into the race section of the handler in groups of 20-30 at a time, depending on size and wool. The grated floor of the 20ft Mobile Sheep Bulk Handler is then lifted hydraulically, with the animals brought to waist height of the operator. The sheep or goats are suspended on their underside. Sheep and goats become very passive when they are caught as a group, in a natural position. As with shearing, if the animal is properly held, it becomes submissive.
Sheep and goats are ideally positioned and held within the 20ft Mobile Sheep & Goat Bulk Handler for a majority of husbandry operations. The animals are unable to ‘tunnel’ and bury their heads. Operators are far less likely to miss the recalcitrant animals. Animals are more likely to receive the correct dose, or have treatment applied in the correct pattern as they are confined and well presented.
Throughput levels are very high, as handling and filling times are quick and labor efficient. Operator fatigue and need for physical strength are minimized. Operators are also physically separated from chemicals being applied by the sheeted sides, having minimal contact with the animals. This isolation from the animals also minimizes injury risk for the operator.
The 20ft Mobile Sheep & Goat Bulk Handler can be easily used by one operator as it fills easily, and all animals are accessible from one side. It can also be effectively used by two or more operators as both sides of the handler can be utilized to access sheep or goats.
